The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER) is the sole regulatory and examination conducting body in the state of Rajasthan since 1957. It’s a state agency of the Government of Rajasthan, headquartered in Ajmer. It is responsible for the promotion and development of secondary education within the State, under the Rajasthan Secondary Education Act 1957.

It organizes and manages the working of government and private schools affiliated to it. More than 6,000 secondary and senior secondary schools are affiliated to the BESR. The board also conducts evaluation examinations, science talent search and national talent search examinations. The medium of instruction is both Hindi and English with emphasis on Sanskrit and Cultural studies; including a unique course structure in the form of Varishtha Upadhyaya Parisksha at 10+2 level.

The BSER will commence Class 10 examinations from March 15th 2018 and conclude by March 26th 2018.   • Candidate must be aware of the date and time of the examination.
  • In case of any change in the date sheets, intimation will be given through newspaper.

Every year 15 lakh+ candidates register for the Rajasthan Board examinations. The BSER focuses on Secondary Education in Rajasthan in more than 6000 schools, across 33 districts. 11 Lakh students have already registered and are appearing for the Class 10 2018 board examinations. There has been an increase in the percentage of students registering for their Boards as compared to those registered in 2017. The expected overall pass percentage is 82% with a percentage of 79% for boys and 80% for girls respectively.

In schemes announced by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, scholarships and free vehicles were announced for the students. For 200 girl students; scoring more than 85% in classes 10th and 12th, the state would gift free scooters. The scheme also announced a scholarship of INR 273.50 crores for both Pre and Post Metric students.

The Board has released the timetable for the upcoming Class 10 examinations but hasn’t provided any dates for the results. They are expected to be out in May/June tentatively.
